An exciting opportunity has arisen at the iconic Pomme d’Or Hotel for Sous Chef. Superbly located in the centre of St Helier, overlooking Liberation Square and the yacht marina, the 143-bedroom Pomme d’Or has been a centre for business and pleasure for over 180 years.

The Pomme d'Or Hotel, Jersey, has a culture of creating moments of magic and memorable experiences for our guests and customers. We are looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join our team.

What will I be doing?
As a Sous Chef you will be part of a passionate team that takes pride in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will work in a high performing, fast paced volume catering environment aiming to exceed our guest's needs and expectations on a daily basis

What you’ll do
To take responsibility for own section and to assist with other sections of the kitchen when required
Managing/supporting the total running of the kitchen.
Helping to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests and adhering to the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.
To assist the Head Chef with kitchen procedures in line with company policies, implementation of menus and all other aspects of kitchen management.
Effectively manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Develop, motivate and inspire your colleagues.
Ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly by optimising the use of materials and manpower.
To maintain that all kitchen operations fall in line with COSHH, HACCP and other food hygiene regulations.

What are we looking for?
This is an amazing opportunity for a Sous Chef looking to develop their management skills, influence menus and set standards.
At least 2 years experience in a similar role in a 4* hotel
To be passionate and positively spirited about all food
Experience of working with multi outlet operations
Mature leadership and teamwork skills
Well developed organisation, administration and IT skills
Loads of energy, ideas and enthusiasm
