An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Front of House specialist to join our team. The Merton Resort is the largest hotel complex in the Channel Islands, featuring leisure facilities and an entertainment offering, which are unmatched by any other hotel in Jersey. Along with 286 bedrooms and 28 suites, the resort offers a choice of six restaurants, cafes and bars.
Reporting to the Resort Manager, we are looking for a Front Office Manager who can confidently deliver exceptional customer service to our guests and lead the department. You will have a genuine pride and passion for what you do, with the ability to build rapport and long-term relationships with guests. The role requires a great team player, adaptable and with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
As the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for and supervise work at all levels of the operation at the Front Desk, Porters and Nights team. The role includes full participation in the Duty Management of the hotel.
As the ideal candidate for this exceptional business:
•You will have previous experience as a Front Office Manager in a large hotel or resort
•You are highly organised and confident managing a rooms operation with over 700 guests
•You have a high level of IT proficiency and familiarity with various PMS. Knowledge of Protel is desirable, although training will be provided
•You have experience in coaching and mentoring team members to develop required skills
•You are a strong people manager with the ability to train, motivate and develop your team
•You have customer service experience and the confidence to resolve customer enquiries effectively
•You have great communication skills with fluency in English, both verbal and written
• You are a ‘hands-on’ operator with a guest-centred approach who is happiest leading from the front
