Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, the Merton Hotel, Jersey, Channel Islands

Part of Seymour Hotels, the Channel Islands largest group, The Merton Hotel is one of Jersey's leading family hotels. The hotel itself boasts 286 bedrooms, various restaurants and extensive bar facilities.

Adjacent to the Hotel and sharing all the facilities are the Merton Suites.

The Merton includes Jersey’s only tropical hotel leisure complex- The Aquadome. The facility boasts a fun pool and Flowrider surf machine, together with a gym, and all manner of entertainment for both children and adults.

You will become part of a professional food and beverage team reporting to the Deputy General Manager, where your principal role, alongside the other Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, will be to support the food and liquor operations of this high profile family hotel.

Main Tasks
•Involvement in liquor and food control procedures – including stocktaking and invoice management.
•Supporting Heads of Department in the operation of their departments, becoming involved as required in staff recruitment, training, supervision and performance review.
•Overseeing and assisting with the management of functions, conferences, weddings etc.
•To assist with menu planning and design for our various food and beverage outlets within the Hotel.
•A full role in the Duty management of the Hotel. You will also be responsible for overseeing fire procedures and managing our gardens.

You Need
•A good working knowledge of F & B operations, gained through experience in a hotel based supervisory role. This will include experience is both bistro and buffet style restaurants.
•Organisation, administration, IT skills and a good awareness of business
•Team work skills and the ability to roll up your sleeves and get involved
•Exceptional customer care skills
•A sense of fun and loads of energy, ideas and enthusiasm
