Permanent Deputy Head Housekeeper Required

Job Title: Deputy Head Housekeeper
Location: Merton Hotel
Responsible to: Head Housekeeper, Group
Housekeeping
Responsible for: Housekeeping Department Personnel

Main Area of Responsibility

To assist in the management of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all cleaning and duties of the housekeeping department are fully completed and to the standard required by the hotel. All operations must be carried out in line with current forecast and budgets. In addition all functions carried out by any members of the department should be compliant to current legislation and health and safety policy. Involvement in recruitment, selection and training of staff in conjunction with the Personnel Manager.

Essential Skills
•        Supervisory skills in Housekeeping operations.   (At least one year.)
•        Through knowledge of Housekeeping.
•        Excellent customer and staff care.
•        Experience delivering training.
•        Knowledge of Health & Safety / Manual Handling.
•        Proficient on Microsoft office/Hotel PMS.
•        Knowledge of C.O.S.H system.
•        Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-cultural team.

Desirable Skills
•        Stock taking skills.
•        Recruitment and selection.
•        Management skills.
•        Managing budgets and forecasting.
•        Hotel or catering qualification.
•        Willingness to develop and learn.
