Business Risk Manager (Investments)

As a Barclays Business Risk Manager (Investments), you’ll provide risk management support for the Overseas Services business areas in Jersey including customer due diligence (CDD), anti-money laundering, fraud, credit and operational risk. You will provide support in ensuring the business’ core risk objectives are met, managing key risk processes and situations, providing management information, cascading new risk policies and supporting staff in the business with risk training. This role will be a lead Investment services risk role and an important component of Jersey’s growth as an international booking centre for investment business from the wider Barclays Group.About us:

As a Business Risk Manager (Investments), your main responsibilities will involve:        
• Identifying and providing solutions to a wide range of investment risk management issues, including monitoring the investment platform to analyse any adverse trends in related risk events
• Monitoring ongoing anti money laundering (AML) risk on the investment platform, using sanction and adverse media systems, referral markers and by monitoring for AML red-flag trends
• Ensuring all high risk and PEP (politically exposed persons) investment and fund clients are given an adequate annual review and we are comfortable to maintain these clients in our book of business
• Identifying and providing solutions to a wide range of business risk management issues, managing specific risk situations, producing regular risk management information, maintaining databases and managing Jersey struck-off and dissolved companies
• Being the primary local stakeholder on investment risk and representing on any regulatory scoping or remediation projects as well as at change and operational committees
• Conducting business with primary internal and external clients such as; Approved Financial Fiduciary, International Personal, Private Bank, Local Market, Family Office and Funds clients

As a Business Risk Manager (Investments), your skills and qualifications will include:
• A background in financial services and a thorough understanding and appreciation of the need to operate to high risk and regulatory standards
• A good knowledge of the various investment products and services being offered and must understand investments and the associated risks
• The ability to develop and maintain contacts with external and internal stakeholders
• High technical ability, motivational qualities and an enthusiastic approach
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to deliver results within a time pressured environment, whilst demonstrating world-class service, with experience working within a commercially minded environment
